CURRENT STATUS

The murder continues to be investigated by H.D. Vest Investigations, a private investigation firm licensed in Texas and headquartered in Dallas. The firm utilizes the services of independent research firms, several part-time consultants, and several part-time and full-time detectives.

The investigation is focused on providing answers to the following questions:

  • Who killed Buddy and what was their motive?
  • Who is the mystery investigator and why is he so interested in the circumstances surrounding Buddy’s death?
  • Who wrote the M. Smith letter and why?
  • Why would a high-level employee of the State Department/Defense Intelligence Agency involve himself in the case?
