CONFIDENTIAL SOURCE

In November 2005, I contacted a retired Army colonel with impeccable credentials for assistance on the case. On 8 Jan 2006, the colonel informed me by email that he had contacted “deep sources” (apparently within an intelligence organization with access to classified documents). He stated “There are people still alive that will go to any lengths to protect the deep secrets of the operations.”

Over the coming months I visited personally with the colonel on three different occasions and exchanged numerous emails with him.

In April 2006, I learned that the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee had a copy of a previous edition of this Briefing Document and planned to request the file on my dad from CIA Director Goss on 3 May.

In late April 2004 I received an email from the colonel that he was going to Washington to meet with his sources. When he returned, I asked him on 2 May what he had learned. He stated that his sources said there was no file.

I learned that on 3 May, the House Intelligence Committee had requested the file on my dad as planned. The next day, Director Goss announced his resignation.

I asked a congressman to talk to the colonel. On 25 Jul, 2006, the colonel met with the congressman. The congressman told me that the colonel denied receiving any classified information concerning the case. Three days later, the colonel went on assignment to Baghdad as a member of the diplomatic mission. The colonel works for the State Department in Iraq and has ties to the Defense Intelligence Agency.
