| Harold Eugene Vest, World War II Veteran, husband, father, and owner of Vest's Cabinet Shop, was found dead in the restroom of his business in Gainesville, TX between midnight and 2AM on Friday, June 28, 1946. Information is being sought surrounding the suspicious circumstances of his death. While originally called a suicide, the DA of Cooke County has reclassified the case as a homicide. Buddy’s wife, Ruth and son, Herb Vest have sought to find answers in this tragic story that has forever changed the lives of the Vest family, Gainesville residents and concerned citizens everywhere.
